Working Together – Sister Clubs
Sister Clubs are a small but important part of our club. The two existing sister clubs of the Rotary Club of Hillarys have regular contact, covering anniversaries and events and from time to time helping with advice and experience.
Fareham Rotary
Fareham Rotary Club received it’s Charter in 1946, as a daughter club of the Rotary Club of Gosport.
In turn, it became the mother club to RC Petersfield, RC Locksheath, & RC Fareham Meon.
It twinned with Cabourg, France and Del Amo, California USA.
We are an active mixed gender club of around 45 members, with a full social and charitable calendar. Our weekly meetings feature guest speakers, group meetings, social planning and fund raising events.
We provide a beach-side community facility, (The Wheelhouse),which is used by social and charity groups from the local area.
Colombo Rotary
The Rotary Club of Colombo and Rotary Club of Hillarys resigned their Sister Club Agreement on 1 August 2019. The two Clubs will continue to work together on regional and international projects.
The Rotary Club of Colombo posted on their website recently regarding World Understanding Day and the Signing of Sister Club Agreements. The link to the page is here.
Chartered in 1929, the Rotary Club of Colombo serves the Colombo community in Sri Lanka.
Colombo Rotary, through its sister programmes, has provided numerous good works, including optometry and dental services to those in need.
